Stop the Voter Fraud Protection Act

STOP SENATE BILL 640/Assembly BILL 895 NOW!

Recently additional changes were made to these two already horrible bills. Originally, the committee agreed to allow challengers to be from the same county, rather than the same ward. Now the Democrats have decided that this would apply everywhere except for "first class cities" (like Milwaukee) where any challengers would have to be from the same aldermanic ward as the voter being suspected of fraud. This change appears to negate the ability to have neutral parties at the poll to question anything suspicious.

Also, if someone is charged with election fraud (which is almost impossible since we do not require a photo I.D.) they can be charged $10,000 and up to 3 1/2 years in prison or both. HOWEVER, if someone is charged with voter "intimidation" which could be as easy as standing in or near a polling place and simply observing, that person can be charged up to $100,000 and up to 3 years in prison or both. I.E. the penalties would be 10 times as harsh if you witnessed voter fraud as they would be for the person committing the fraud! In other words, those concerned citizens who have been poll watchers, observers who remain silent and only alert the poll workers if they see something questionable, could end up being charged for "intimidation" simply because they are there observing the process.

The most far-reaching and bone-chilling change that was made however came from an amendment introduced by 4th district Senator Lena Taylor of Milwaukee-Project Voter. This last minute "amendment" would give a "nationally-focused non-profit community organizing group" access to the entire Dept of Transportation database to "help" people register to vote. This database USED to belong only to the State of Wisconsin, but if this legislation passes would now be open to groups throughout the entire country. Rep. Roth asked the attorney present if this meant such an organization could include the Democratic Party, or ACORN and its subsidiaries and she admitted those types of groups WOULD apply the way the amendment is worded.

This horrible bill should be renamed from the "Voter Fraud Protection Act" to the "ACORN Fraud Enhancement Act". We must stop it and do it now. This is a countrywide effort and Wisconsin is the guinea pig because we are known countrywide for voter fraud in the past.

Please call your own Assembly person TODAY and demand they give you a yes or no answer on whether they will help to KILL THIS BILL. Ask for an answer in writing. They are not really interested in receiving your calls unless you are a constituent, so please call your own Assembly person. If you do not know who your Assembly person is, you can click on the website below and find out.
